Overview

This course covers the immediate response to life-threatening illness or injury until full medical care is available.

It introduces adult, child, and infant cardiopulmonary arrest, airway and breathing emergencies, choking management, CPR, and the safe use of an automated external defibrillator.

Target Audience

Patient-care assistants, student nurses, home personnel, members of the public, commercial-premises staff, immediate supervisors, front-line staff, and others who may need to provide basic life support before a qualified first aider arrives.
