COURSE OUTLINE
- Introduction to Basic Life Support (BLS)
- Recognizing and assessing a casualty
- Perform Cardio Pulmonary Resuscitation (CPR) techniques.
- Safety considerations in the Use of automated external defibrillators (AEDs)
- How to place an unresponsive casualty in the recovery position
- Dealing with different age groups (e.g., adults, children, infants)
- Hands-on practical training and assessment
ASSESSMENT
Practical demonstration and multiple-choice theory assessment
Practical observation
The practical assessment is completed throughout the course delivery.
This ongoing assessment requires learners to demonstrate practical basic life support skills.
Multiple-choice theory assessment
Learners are required to pass a 5-question multiple-choice theory paper.
To be successful, all questions must be answered
