OVERVIEW
 
  • This course provides the knowledge and understanding of Lifting Operations at a supervisory capacity. Upon successful completion, delegates will be able to supervise and execute a lifting operation safely and in accordance with the lifting plan.
 
COURSE AIM
 
  • This course aims to equip participants with the technical knowledge and competency required to effectively execute the responsibilities of a lifting supervisor.
COURSE OBJECTIVES

By the end of this course, successful delegates will be able to:

  • Outline the legal requirements and international guidance available for a lifting operation.
  • Complete the calculations required in relation to loads, slings and their capacities.
  • Identify the different types of cranes and their components.
  • Correctly utilize duty charts and range diagrams of cranes.
  • Outline the roles and responsibilities of a lifting supervisor.
  • Effectively execute lifting operations in accordance with Lifting Plans.
PREREQUISITE-CANDIDATE ELIGIBILITY CRITERIA
  • Good ability to read, write speak and understand English.
  • Should be able to complete mathematical calculations.
  • Minimum 3 years onsite experience. (Or previous basic rigging and slinging certification)
  • Working knowledge of lifting operations.
  • Communication, Administration and supervisory skills.
